About Us
Tenda Wema’s journey began in a small village in Kakamega, Kenya. A group of compassionate community members saw children dropping out of school, youth without direction and women burdened by poverty yet full of untapped potential.
What started as a few volunteers paying school fees to a handful of children grew into something much bigger, a movement of hope, action and change.
Founded as a grassroots, community organization, Tenda Wema was built on the values of compassion and empowerment.
“We are not outsiders trying to fix problems, we are part of the community, walking hand-in-hand with those we serve.”
Tenda Wema exists to address the pressing social and economic challenges facing vulnerable groups in the community.

Tenda Wema Community Organization is registered under the Ministry of Social Services in Kenya with Reg No. (DSD/37/205/02/121467).
Tenda Wema, meaning “Do Good” in Swahili, was born from a simple but powerful belief: every person deserves a chance , no matter where they come from or what they have.
Tenda Wema Community Organization
As a community organization, we believe that local people, when equipped with the right tools and opportunities, can be the driving force for lasting change.

At Tenda Wema, we believe that true and lasting change begins at the grassroots level. We design initiatives that respond to the real needs of the community.

We work every day to uplift and empower vulnerable children, youth and women through practical support, mentorship and opportunities that open doors and transform lives.
